Cotton Picking
When I moved to Eastern Arkansas from California, one of the most interesting things I learned about what cotton. It was great to get to watch the process from land prep to picking in the fall each year. I never realized how many different strands of seed there were and how the yield could vary from farm to farm depending on many conditions including very localized weather.
I still enjoy the fall when the cotton is in bloom and the process starts of picking and baling the cotton. Cotton gins are still found in many parts of the south including South Carolina where I live now
